    • There is no decision yet from the 2nd Circuit Court in the NYSRPA case against the unSAFE Act.

    • A federal district court in Texas overturned a portion of the Gun Control Act of 1968 prohibiting the sale of handguns to out-of-state residents.     • Putnam County SCOPE participated in SCOPE Lobby Day on 3/3/15. SCOPE met with all Putnam County legislators including Assemblywoman Galef who voted FOR the unSAFE Act.

      • According to Galef’s legislative aide, since passage of the unSAFE Act, none of her constituents have come in to her office to voice their displeasure. Therefore, she is assuming that all of her constituents love the unSAFE Act.

      • ACTION ITEM: If you live in Galef’s district, make an appointment to see her in her district office, and voice your displeasure with the unSAFE Act. Be SPECIFIC about the parts of the law that are having a direct impact on you as an individual constituent. Ask for support on the three bipartisan bills listed below – A5628, A5629, and A5630.

      • ACTION ITEM: Attend both of Galef’s town halls tomorrow and show your support for your Second Amendment rights.

  • Legislative News

    • Three bills to repeal portions of the unSAFE Act are now in both houses, with the Assembly side sponsored by Anthony Brindisi (D-Utica). This bipartisan support shows that we are gaining traction. It is crucial that we keep up the pressure on the legislators to get rid of the unSAFE Act.
